Greg "Piddler" Martin
He has worked for mainly Dan Forsman throughout his long career, but he has worked with a few others like Mark Calcavecchia, Dottie Pepper, Robin Walton, and Heather Drew.
While he has had a lifetime of great fun and travel throughout his career, his favorite story was when he was out on the LPGA Tour. He was caddying for Dottie Pepper in Bethesda, MD and when he arrived at the airport. There was a driver with a sign that said "Greg Martin". He said “that's me.” The driver asked if he was going to the Hyatt and he said you bet. After getting in the limo and having a cocktail, He arrived and went to the front desk to check in. He presented his ID and asked how much, their reply was no charge and here is your key. Upon entering the room awaiting Greg was a bottle of wine, a basket of fruit and a note saying "welcome Greg". After three sips of wine, there was knock on the door. he opened it to the General Manager of the Hyatt and the security guard who asked for his ID. He showed hisy license which stated Greg Martin and they replied we have a problem here and come with us. Back at the front desk the hotel manager stated Greg Martin meet Greg Martin. He was informed that he was at the wrong Hyatt and was provided a limo ride to the right Hyatt with no drink. Upon arrival Greg checked in and $550.00 later I was staying with Dottie!
The Tacoma, Washington native is married to wife Kathleen and now resides in Dunedin, Florida. Piddler’s new book is slated to hit the stands shortly and we will all look forward to some good reading when that happens……

Bob, Donna, Dale
Welcome to the Official Site of the Professional Tour Caddies Association of America. We are excited to bring you up to date information with regard to weekly unsung heroes of the PGA TOUR, the caddies. Caddying has its ups and downs for certain, but one thing for sure is caddies are a "family" through thick and thin and all work together for the win. Fittingly, we make our first Caddy Bio the true heroes in the Caddy Wagon - Donna and Bob Schultz, with PTCA President Dale McElyea.
Donna and Bob make the Caddy Wagon a bona fide "home away from home" each and every week serving up some of the best food, laughs, and comfort for all the PGA TOUR caddies, their families, and the PGA TOUR reps. As well as, many PGA TOUR players that frequent the Caddy Wagon. The caddies could not make it without Donna and Bob and Dale as they are always there, always on time, and always willing to help.
Donna and Bob have been married for 37 years (all to each other). They have 2 boys and especially proud of their SIX grandchildren. After working for 37 years in the plastics industry in their home city of Chicago ( SOX fans only please), they decided to pack up and move to Melbourne, Florida and go see the country. And see the country they have for the past 7 years. Traveling nearly 20,000 miles a year, they have definitely seen our great land in the best of ways – on a golf course! They got into it to do some traveling as they enjoyed it so much, but the thing that keeps them coming back each season is the camaraderie amongst the caddies. Donna calls each caddie her “extended family” and each caddie feels the same way in return.
Dale has been the President of the Caddie Association for 9 years and has caddied for a host of great players and has had multiple wins with multiple players. He caddied most notably for a long time for Steve Lowery, and has worked for Jim Gallagher, Neal Lancaster, and many others. Dale resides in Ponte Vedra, Florida when he is not on the road, which is roughly 25 weeks a year out on the PGA TOUR in the Caddy Wagon these days. Originally from Missouri, he is an avid Kansas Jay Hawks fan and also a pretty darn good cook serving up some of the best food a caddie could hope for in our “getaway.”
The three were instrumental in the design and construction of the new Caddy Wagon. With the latest state of the art items like plasma TV’s around the entire wagon, stereo, wireless Internet, as well as plush surroundings each and every caddy truly enjoys and appreciates what the PTCA and the PGA TOUR provide. The new digs are awesome. When you see the likes of guys like Tom Lehman, Sergio Garcia, Woody Austin, and many more, you know you are doing something right!
Donna’s favorite story is one that will never be forgotten and she is reminded of often. She was making some oatmeal in the microwave when Sergio walked in and surprised Donna with a huge kiss right on the cheek that really flustered her. She set the timer for 20 minutes instead of 20 seconds and about 3 minutes later it seemed like WWIII was occurring with oatmeal everywhere! So each time Sergio enters the Caddy Wagon these days we check to make sure nothing is burning.
Thanks Donna, Bob, and Dale for all you do. Those hour and half before the first tee time openings come awful early every day and we’re glad you are there for all the caddies. |
